Our 60,000 sq ft production facility in Vars, ON supports more than 100 office and production staff and serves install teams across Ottawa and the Greater Toronto Area. We have a dedicated core of long-term employees, and we're looking for the right fit to grow that team.

About the role

Nordik Windows and Doors is hiring a full-time Spray Booth Painter at our production facility in Vars, Ontario. You will prepare and spray-finish window and door frames, sashes and components in our paint booth, making sure every piece leaves the line with an even, durable finish that matches spec.

This is a lead role in a new division of the company. You will set up and run the spray booth operation, establish finishing processes and quality standards, and train the painters who join the team as it grows. We're looking for an experienced finisher who is ready to own the paint line from day one.

Key responsibilities

Day-to-day finishing • Prepare parts for finishing: clean, scuff-sand, mask and prime window and door components. • Set up and operate spray equipment • Load, rack and unload parts safely, and manage flash-off and cure times. • Inspect finished pieces for coverage, colour match, gloss and defects such as runs, sags, orange peel, dry spray and contamination; touch up or rework as needed. • Read work orders, production schedules, drawings and paint specifications, and meet daily output targets. • Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, booth filters and the booth area; report equipment issues promptly. • Store, handle and dispose of paints, solvents and waste according to WHMIS and company procedures. • Follow all health and safety rules, including respirator and PPE use, and support continuous improvement on the line.

Qualifications

Required • 3+ years of hands-on spray finishing experience • Proven ability to lead, train or direct others on a production line. • Solid knowledge of surface preparation, paint mixing, catalyzed coatings and spray gun setup. • Ability to read work orders and specs in English and use a tape measure. • Strong attention to detail and a good eye for colour and finish quality. • Able to stand for a full shift, do repetitive work and lift 50+ lb (23 kg) independently. • CSA-approved steel-toe work boots or shoes. • Reliable, positive team player who follows all facility safety procedures.

Preferred • Lead hand or supervisor experience in a finishing department. • Experience setting up or commissioning a spray booth, including ventilation, filtration and curing. • Experience finishing PVC or vinyl products and colour matching. • Current WHMIS training and familiarity with Ontario health and safety requirements for spray operations.
