About The Team

At DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo, design means building the experience for the people who order, the people who prepare, and the people who deliver. The Order Journey team owns one critical piece of that: everything from browsing a store's menu to checking out, and everything that happens after — across every market we operate in, from dense US metros to markets across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.

We're a team that ships. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering and Product, dig into the data ourselves, and build directly in code alongside traditional design tools. If the AI-powered tooling we need doesn't exist yet, we build it.

About The Role

Between 2005 and 2015, "web designer" became "product designer," and the scope widened. The same shift is happening again — AI is stretching the craft further in both directions, toward strategy on one end and direct execution on the other. This role sits across that whole stretch: you'll set the strategic direction for the Order Journey across three global brands, and lead a team that builds directly in code and moves fast enough that judgment, not process, is what holds the work together.

Concretely, you'll own design for the Order Experience — everything between opening a store and finishing an order: browse and discovery, menu and item selection, cart, checkout, and what happens after checkout (order tracking, support, reorder). You'll lead a team of senior and staff designers who build directly in code, and you'll be the person Product, Engineering, and Operations directors turn to when a decision about the order funnel needs to be made — across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo, and across every market we operate in.

This is a T7-level role — Senior Design Manager, with full managerial responsibility for a team of senior and staff designers. You will report into Design Director, Cx Foundations within Global Studio, DoorDash's global design org. This role is not 100% remote; we operate in a hybrid model with 1–2 days per week in one of our Design Hubs.
