Based in Lisbon 2 days a week onsite with the rest of the teamJob Spec – SAP BTP Platform EngineerRole overviewWe are looking for an external SAP BTP Platform Engineer, based in Portugal, to strengthen a business-critical platform team. The role focuses on platform setup and configuration, not application development.The BTP platform team is currently two external engineers, supporting a large developer community. This role reduces that key-person risk and bridges the gap until an internal platform position opens.You will work closely with a team member, who leads the move to infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and with the wider team in Portugal. The role is remote, with occasional days at the Lisbon office to work with the team in person.Key responsibilitiesSet up, configure and operate the SAP BTP landscape: global accounts, subaccounts, directories, entitlements and quotas.Build and maintain BTP configuration as code with Terraform (SAP BTP Terraform provider)Manage platform services and connectivity: Cloud Foundry and Kyma environments, Cloud Connector, destinations, integration with on-premise systems.Own identity and access: SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), role collections, trust configuration.Support development teams with environments, CI/CD and transport setup, and platform standards.Monitor platform health, cost and usage; handle platform incidents and service requests.Document the platform and help transfer knowledge to the future internal platform engineer.Required skills and experience4+ years in platform, cloud or infrastructure engineering, with at least 2 years hands-on on SAP BTP administration.Solid knowledge of the BTP account model, entitlements, Cloud Foundry environment and SAP Cloud Connector.Hands-on Terraform experience; infrastructure-as-code and Git-based workflows.Experience with SAP Cloud Identity Services and BTP security concepts (role collections, trust, SSO).Comfortable working autonomously in a small team and documenting what you build.Fluent English; based in Portugal and able to travel to Lisbon occasionally.Nice to haveKyma runtime / Kubernetes experience.CI/CD on BTP (SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).SAP Integration Suite, SAP Build or Cloud Transport Management setup.SAP certification, e.g. SAP Certified Administrator – SAP BTP.
