Our Technology practice are looking for an experienced Architecture Manager to join the team.

In Technology, we help clients define, drive and deliver technology-led change. We have deep experience in the strategy, design, delivery and assurance of large-scale transformation across financial services, energy, commodities, utilities, telecoms and government. Our people become trusted advisors, independent of any technology provider, and deliver real value for our clients.

AI is changing how organisations work, compete and invest, and it’s changing architecture with it. Our clients need architects who can cut through the hype, turn ambition into practical action and create value without losing control of cost, risk or complexity.

In our Architecture practice we bring the right balance of innovation, pace and control to technology-enabled change. We work on our clients’ most complex and highest-return challenges. Commodity or ivory-tower architecture isn’t where we play.

As a Manager, you’ll lead architecture work, use AI to raise the pace and quality of what we deliver, and play an active part in growing our business. You’ll spot opportunities, shape compelling work and build relationships that last well beyond a single engagement.

What you will be doing

Lead architecture that delivers real value

You’ll lead architecture work that turns strategy into practical change. That means owning architecture engagements and workstreams, shaping target architectures and roadmaps, and helping clients make better decisions about where to invest, what to simplify and how to manage risk.

  • Lead engagements with clear ownership of scope, quality, outcomes and client relationships
  • Help organisations improve their architecture functions, operating models and governance
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly, from delivery teams through to CTOs and CIOs

Help clients navigate AI-enabled change

You’ll help clients move from interest in AI to safe, valuable adoption. We’ll look to you to cut through the noise, design for change and make sure AI-enabled solutions have the foundations they need: data, integration, security, identity, governance and clear ownership.

  • Shape AI-ready architectures that balance innovation, pace and control
  • Help clients move beyond disconnected pilots to reusable services, governed delivery and measurable value
  • Use AI tools to speed up research, analysis, option development and architecture artefacts, with strong quality assurance throughout

Create and convert commercial opportunities

You’ll play an active part in growing our business. That means spotting where we can help, shaping work that clients value and building the confidence to convert good conversations into deliverable opportunities.

  • Qualify opportunities through delivery, market insight and trusted relationships
  • Shape proposals, statements of work, team shapes and commercial models with discipline
  • Build architecture propositions that match our growth priorities and the challenges our clients face

Lead people and build our capability

You’ll help build the kind of team people want to work in and clients want to work with. You’ll coach others, share what works and help us turn individual expertise into reusable capability across the practice.

  • Lead mixed Baringa and client teams with clear expectations and a strong coaching mindset
  • Coach colleagues on effective and responsible use of AI
  • Help grow the practice through training, thought leadership, reusable assets and recruitment

Your skills and experience

  • Experience leading architecture work within complex technology-enabled change, with a strong delivery focus
  • Experience in both enterprise and solution architecture, translating strategy into deliverable target architectures and roadmaps, and designing and assuring solutions to achieve it
  • Broad experience across architecture domains (business, application, integration, data, infrastructure and security), with deep expertise in at least one
  • Cloud experience across XaaS offerings, with knowledge of cloud-native services and how to use them in cloud and hybrid solutions
  • A practical understanding of AI and the architecture considerations needed to adopt it safely and at scale. Hands-on AI design experience is a bonus, not a must
  • Experience contributing to proposals, bids or account growth, and the commercial awareness to shape work that is valuable and deliverable
  • The ability to take ownership of projects and teams, sell work and deliver results
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain the complex in simple terms, concisely and with clarity
  • Experience managing stakeholders from C-suite through to engineering, and a desire to build lasting relationships
  • A collaborative style, real curiosity and a genuine interest in helping others grow

  • Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
  • Flexible Working: We know that the ‘ideal’ work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
  • Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We’ve introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
  • Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company’s success.

We report our progress publicly and ensure that we are also externally assessed and scored through organisations like CDP and EcoVadis - helping us to continually identify where we can improve.

We have a long legacy of supporting the communities in which we work, and offer a variety of ways to contribute, by putting people first and creating impact that lasts. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda is about giving back to the communities in which we live and work by sharing our skills, talent and time. In essence, we aim to empower and encourage everyone in the firm to contribute to the things we care about, and support registered charities and organisations with a clear social or environmental purpose to increase the positive impact they can have.
