In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity involves evaluating and producing first-article inspection deliverables using 3D scanning and advanced metrology software, ensuring accuracy in scan-to-CAD comparisons, datum setups, and profile and position callouts. Your insight will help determine whether deviations arise from true part discrepancies or fixturing and alignment artefacts, supporting critical sign-off decisions on FAI reports.

Scope of Work

1. Review and validate first-article inspection (FAI) reports derived from 3D scan data.
2. Conduct detailed scan-to-CAD comparisons, analyzing measurement deviations and their sources.
3. Set up, interpret, and document datum structures, profiles, and position callouts as per industry standards.
4. Utilize CMM measurement techniques and perform uncertainty analysis for dimensional integrity.
5. Differentiate between actual part deviations and artefacts caused by fixturing or alignment issues.
6. Deliver clear, comprehensive written and verbal feedback to support decision-making on FAI sign-off.
7. Contribute nuanced, high-quality metrology input to inform and enhance AI system development.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and FAI processes within manufacturing or quality environments.
2. Proficiency with 3D scanning devices and inspection software (e.g., PolyWorks, GOM Inspect, or similar).
3. Strong background in CMM measurement techniques and uncertainty analysis.
4. Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
5. Experience producing or approving FAI reports backed by practical metrology knowledge.
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to explanatory detail.
7. Analytical mindset for discerning true quality issues versus artefacts introduced by measurement setup.
